NHS Health Check aged 40 – 74

Introduction

The Red House Group offers free NHS Health Checks every five years to patients between the ages of 40 and 74 who are not otherwise being seen for a pre-existing medical condition. These checks are conducted by our Health Care Assistants (HCAs) in their regular clinics and normally last about 20 minutes.

The NHS Health Check is a health check-up for adults in England aged 40-74. It’s designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia. As we get older, we have a higher risk of developing one of these conditions. An NHS Health Check helps find ways to lower this risk. Please contact the Practice to arrange an appointment.

Your invitation to a free NHS Health Check

If you are:

  • A registered patient
  • Aged 40 to 74
  • Not otherwise being seen for a pre-existing condition*

and you have not had an NHS Health Check with us in the last five years, then you are eligible and we would like to invite you to make an appointment for your free NHS Health Check.

Please contact your usual surgery to book an appointment with one of our Health Care Assistants for an NHS Health Check.

You should also download and read the NHS Health Check Leaflet.  Paper copies of this leaflet are also available from reception at all our surgeries.
